Tight and Bright.

Instead of doing my Japanese homework (once again), today I decided I wanted to be more creative! So, in my search to both relieve the 'struggling artist' within and to procrastinate doing anything even remotely productive I decided to create designs for some tights I'd love to wear.
Why thights, you ask? Well there are many reasons:

1.Despite Winter (in offcial terms) almost coming to a close, it's still bloody freezing (!) and at this point in time tights are really the only constant element in every single outfit I wear.

2. I have too many pairs of tights!!! Just plain, black tights... and to be honest when you wear the same thing over and over, it gets boring. So why not re-decorate them??

3. I had a dream~
No, not one of those super inspiring 'political movement' dreams like Martin Luther King, just a regular dream, in which I was flying around at a royal ball in space wearing a combination of black 'armour-style' corset and flowing tu-tu... (Kinda what you'd expect if you went to see Darth Vadar in STARWARS-the ballet.) The coolest thing though was my tights, which were black with gold, silver and black sequins and beads scattered across them so that as I moved around they became stars in the night sky. -YEAP, JUST A COMPLETELY REGULAR, TOTALLY NORMAL DREAM :

(It was cool though)
Anyhow, as a result I've done my reaserach and gathered all that is needed for my tights-rennovation escapade!
TIGHTS!
Sequins
Beads
Fabric glue
Sewing kit-With black thread
Cardboard (to stick inside and keep the tights taught when im glueing away)
I plan to spend the entirety of tomorrow on them and hopefully have them ready to wear by my friends wonderful birthday on Saturday, and yeah, that means you'll all be able to have a look at the finished product come Sunday morn. (Well, maybe not morning, just cause.... I'll probably be rather 'dead' at that point.) This is my new goal, and I can't wait to try them on! Here's just a taste of what tights of a similar fashion look like when they're professionally made.

(The tights and the theme for such were inspired by the Fall 2009 collection accessories by Zac Posen, Doo.Ri and Miu Miu.)

Sequin and Studded Cut-offs

I have to say My favourite are the black tights.
Just look how well they go with those AMAZING shoes!!!!

If you're keen to have a go making your own I'd highly recommend this step-by-step tutorial, compiled by Tiny Sparkly Things! It's absolutely delightful!!

Good luck...ishax
